What Makes Nano Brows Different from Other Techniques?

Nano Brows, also known as machine hair strokes, use a digital machine to create ultra-fine, hair-like strokes that mimic natural eyebrow hairs. This method offers exceptional precision and a defined, realistic look. The pigment is deposited as tiny dots or pixels without cutting the skin, resulting in less trauma and faster recovery. Nano Brows are ideal for clients seeking a textured brow with a natural finish. They can be softer and more natural than microblading strokes.

What Is Ombré Powder Brows?

Ombre Powder Brows employ a soft shading technique that creates a gradient effect, ranging from light to more intense color. This method produces a fuller, makeup-inspired look with a smooth, powdery finish. The final look can be bold and also can be very natural. Ombre Powder Brows are suitable for all skin types, including oily and combination skin, as the shading retains pigment longer and provides a polished, lasting appearance.

What Are Combo Brows?

Combo Brows combine the fine hair-like strokes of Nano Brows with the soft shading of Ombre Powder Brows. This hybrid technique offers a natural yet defined look with added depth and fullness. Combo Brows are versatile and work well for all skin types, providing the texture of hair strokes alongside the gradient shading effect.

Why Are Nano Brows, Ombre Powder Brows, and Combo Brows Better Than Traditional Microblading?

Unlike microblading, which is just one of many techniques used to create beautiful brows and involves a manual blade that cuts the skin to deposit pigment, modern methods such as Nano Brows, Ombre Powder Brows, and Combo Brows use machine-assisted technology.

Machine techniques are generally gentler on the skin, reducing the risk of scarring and supporting more comfortable healing. They also allow for more controlled and precise pigment placement, which often results in better color retention and longer-lasting results.

For these reasons, Vita Felice does not offer microblading. Our focus is on providing safer, more advanced eyebrow PMU and cosmetic tattoo techniques.

If you’re looking to enhance your brows with a permanent eyebrow tattoo, we offer several options and will recommend the method that best suits your natural brows, skin type, and desired result.

Which Technique Suits Your Skin Type Best?

Nano Brows are best suited for clients with all skin types but better for normal to dry skin who desire a natural, hair-stroke finish. Ombre Powder Brows and Combo Brows are recommended for all skin types, including oily and combination skin, as the shading technique retains pigment better and lasts longer on these skin types. Microblading is generally not suitable for oily skin due to faster fading and less precise results.

How Long Do Nano Brows, Ombre Powder Brows, Combo Brows, and Microblading Last?

Nano Brows typically last between 12 to 18 months, while Ombre Powder Brows and Combo Brows can last longer, approximately 18 to 24 months, depending on skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. Microblading results usually last 6 to 12 months.

What Does the Healing Process Look Like for Each Technique?

All techniques require a healing period of about 7 to 14 days. During this time, the treated area may experience slight redness, scabbing, or flaking. Proper aftercare is essential to ensure optimal pigment retention and a smooth healing process. Nano Brows tend to heal slightly faster, around 7 to 10 days, while Ombre Powder Brows, Combo Brows, and Microblading may take up to 14 days.

Combo Brows: Shading and Hair Strokes for Perfect Definition

At Vita Felice, pricing for eyebrow PMU and cosmetic tattoo services reflects the high-quality, personalized care provided by our expert artists. We offer the same price for the initial session across all techniques, so clients do not need to choose their style based on cost. The current rates are:
  • Initial session: $450
  • Perfecting touch-up session: $250
  • 2-session package (initial + touch-up): $660 (discounted package)

For first-time clients, two sessions are required: the initial treatment and a perfecting session 2 to 3 months later to ensure the best results.

What Are the Best Aftercare Practices to Ensure Lasting Results?

  • Wash Brows Twice Daily: Gently cleanse the brows twice a day using a dedicated product or a damp cotton pad with mild, fragrance-free cleanser as advised. Keeping the brows clean helps prevent infection and promotes optimal healing.
  • Apply Recommended Ointment: Use healing ointment sparingly to maintain moisture and protect the skin.
  • Avoid Makeup and Skincare Products: Do not apply any products on or near the brows for at least 10 days.
  • Sun Protection: After healing, apply sunscreen regularly to prevent pigment fading.
  • Do Not Pick or Scratch: Avoid disturbing scabs or flakes to ensure even healing and pigment retention.

Eyebrow Cosmetic Tattoo Post-Care & What to Expect

  • Always wash your hands before touching your brows
  • First 2 hours following procedure:
Dab brows with clean, dry tissue or gauze every 15 minutes or until no traces of blood or oozing. This should prevent scabs from forming.
  • 6 hours following procedure: Clean brows with MicroTonic and apply a thin layer of MicroBalm (both in the after-care kit).
  • After the first 6 hours:
    • Clean brows with MicroTonic 2-3 times a day for the 72 hours after the procedure, and
    • gently and quickly wash brows twice daily with mild soap after 72 hours, and pat dry immediately. Do not get brows soaking wet or leave them wet.
  • Apply a thin layer of MicroBalm 2-3 times a day after washing until all flaking is gone for about 7-14 days.
  • When taking a shower: Apply Vaseline above the brows and place a wrap over the brow area.
  • Until flakes and scabs are naturally fallen off:
    • Do not rub, pick or scratch the new brows.
    • Do not use a sauna or do heavy exercise.
    • Do not use any cosmetics, cleansing lotions or creams on brows.
  • For the following 4 weeks: Do not use a tanning bed / be out in the sun.
  • General daily care after 4 weeks: Avoid exfoliating with retinol, acids, or Retin-A in the brow areas, and always apply sunscreen.

What to expect in the healing process

  • In general, dry skin types holds pigment better and longer than oily skin types.
  • The pigment lightens faster for larger pore skin than smaller pore skin.
  • Permanent makeup lightens faster on younger skin.
  • Brow colour will appear very warm (red) and become darker over the following days! The colour will fade up to 40% lighter after 4 weeks.
  • Once flakiness and scabs are gone, the brow may look very light. The color comes back again.
  • The area can appear uneven, dry and itchy after the procedure.
Healing is different for each client. Genetics, hormones, medication/supplements, medical conditions, daily skincare products, and lifestyle can affect the treatment.

It is important to book your touch up 8-10 weeks after the initial treatment. A colour boost may then be needed every 1-2 years to maintain the appearance.

Eyebrow Permanent Makeup FAQs

What is eyebrow permanent makeup (PMU)?

It is essentially a cosmetic tattoo for eyebrows and encompasses different technique to achieve different look. Microblading is probably the most commonly known technique to simulate brow hair, also known as eyebrow embroidery, eyebrow feathering, and 3D eyebrows done with a hand tool. Similarly using a tattoo / PMU device, the same brow hair like strokes can be created and this method is known as hair strokes or nano strokes. The other distinctive method is shading, which creates powder makeup look and can be done manually with hand tool or machine. It can create softer or bold, or ombré look. This can be known as powder brows, soft powder brows, ombré brows. We can also combine all these techniques to create eyebrows that suits your face and skin.

Are Permanent Makeup Brows Right for Me?

Permanent makeup brows are a great option for many men and women who want to enhance and improve the appearance of their eyebrows! Since we offer a variety of techniques, we’ll find the best-suited methods to create your dream brows! Or, for someone who would like to know more about hair loss on your scalp, explore a solution for hair loss.

Why I can not get new PMU over my faded microblading?

Even though existing PMU might be faded compared to when it was done, oftentimes the skin is still too saturated to take more pigments. The skin is like a sponge. If it is too saturated, it cannot absorb more. In that case, we have to remove pigments from the skin so that it can take new pigments. If the skin is not too saturated, we can do a new PMU over the old one if the old shape is all within the new shape. However, there might need color correction, which may require an additional session.

If you have existing cosmetic tattoo, regardless of the technique, please message us before booking a session. We will assess whether you need tattoo lightening color correction. We offer saline tattoo removal to remove the pigment.

How Long Do Eyebrow PMU Results Last?

Results typically last between 12 to 24 months depending on the technique, skin type, and aftercare. Ombre Powder Brows and Combo Brows generally last longer than Nano Brows.

How long does the appointment take?

Please schedule for about 3 hours. It may be done in as quick as 2 hours. However, some skin takes much longer to take in the pigments. We will do our best to accommodate every client and their timely needs.

What happens during the session?

Your brow technician will provide a shape and style for you. On your approval, the pigment color is then selected. Once you’re satisfied, the procedure will move forward.

Do I have to do a follow up?

Yes, it’s required that you come back in 8-12 weeks after your first session to do a touch-up if you are new to permanent makeup. We go conservative for the initial session to see how your skin take color and how it heals. Some areas may not take in the first session and will need refilling. This session will take up to 3 hours.

How long is the healing process?

Your eyebrow area will be a little red following the procedure and the color will look dark and even darker after a few hours; this is normal and part of the healing process. In the days after the procedure, you’ll notice scabbing or flaking, which is also normal. Do not pick at the scabs. In total, it will take about 7 to 14 days for the scabs to naturally fall. At this point, the color will fade about 40% but it will return, and in about a month the color should fully set in. You may go through an emotional time or uncertainty during this period, which is also quite normal. It takes 2-3 months to see the final results.

Is Eyebrow PMU Painful?

Most clients experience minimal discomfort during Nano Brows, Ombre Powder Brows, and Combo Brows treatments. A topical numbing agent is applied to ensure a comfortable procedure.

Which eyebrow PMU technique Is right for my skin type?

If you have oily or combination skin, sensitive skin, or belong to Fitzpatrick Scale VI, Ombre Powder Brows and Combo Brows may be more suitable for you. However, all these techniques are quite versatile and can be used interchangeably. We can discuss your specific goals and determine which option is the best fit for you.

Is Eyebrow PMU Suitable for All Skin Tones?

Yes, Vita Felice customizes pigment shades to complement all skin tones for natural, flattering results.

How Should I Prepare for My Eyebrow PMU Appointment?

Avoid alcohol, caffeine, blood thinners, and sun exposure 24-72 hours before your appointment. Arrive with a clean face and no makeup on the brow area. Please review Pre-Care information above.

How Many Touch-Up Sessions Will I Need?

First-time clients require generally two sessions: the initial treatment and a perfecting session 2 to 3 months later to perfect the shape and color. However, if you have skin or medical conditions or existing permanent makeup, it may require more sessions.

Can Eyebrow PMU Be Removed or Corrected?

Yes, pigment can be lightened or removed and we offer the professional saline tattoo removal or color correction procedures as well.

Our Testimonials

Our Eyebrow Treatment Process

1. DISCUSS YOUR EYEBROW GOALS

Our specialists will first discuss what your cosmetic goals are to determine the most effective cosmetic eyebrow treatment. We take your current appearance, hair and skin type, medical history, and desired final look into consideration when determining the most suitable brow treatment.

2. GOING THROUGH THE PROCESS

Once you settle on a safe and effective eyebrow treatment, our specialists will get to work. The brow is cleaned. Then we draw the shape for your approval. The technician uses the specialized tools to create a permanent brow tattoo and achieve your desired look. Don’t worry, a numbing agent will be applied to reduce the discomfort. Almost every single client dozes off on our bed during the procedure! Before finishing, a soothing tonic will be applied to your eyebrows and the surrounding skin. It decreases any irritation and discomfort and helps the healing process.

3. FLAUNT YOUR GORGEOUS BROWS

Our eyebrow treatments are not aggressively invasive. You may feel soreness for a few hours following your appointment. If you follow our after-care instruction, scabbing is very minimum. (Remember, this is a joint project. That means you have to do your part to achieve the best result!) Otherwise, you can do what you usually do within the after-care protocol, all the while showing off your amazing new eyebrows.
