Skin Needling

This technique is sometimes referred to as dry tattooing or inkless camouflage, and the concept of this treatment is the same as microneedling, which is collagen induction therapy. What is special about this treatment is that we can select the different configurations, usually smaller, based on the size and types of scars; such as deep wrinkles, ice pick scars, surgical scars, stitch scars, and stretch marks.

This can be an add-on to micro-needling or stand-alone. Price varies.

Tip: Add an LED Light Therapy for the best results.

* Consultation is mandatory before booking this session. Price and duration vary depending on the treatment location and size.

Microneedling

Microneedling enhances your skin’s glow, tone, and texture by creating micro-wounds that stimulate collagen production and help regulate melanocyte activity. It also improves skin mobility by breaking down scar tissue. Our top-of-the-line treatment features the multi-award-winning, computer-controlled Dp4 microneedling device, known for delivering exceptional results.

*This treatment includes an LED Light Therapy for greater results.

Tip: Schedule LED Light Therapy in the following days.

1 hours and 45 min | $400 (face) +

* Consultation is mandatory before booking this session. Price and duration vary depending on the treatment location and size.

  • Discontinue use of retinoids and/or any peeling solution at least 48 hours prior to the procedure.
  • [Scars on face] It’s recommended to have a deep facial, dermaplaning and/or microdermabrasion up to 7 days BEFORE a skin scar needling treatment. To have any of those treatments AFTER skin scar needling customer must WAIT 28 days post-procedure.
  • [Scars on face] Remove all makeup with a double cleanse before your appointment and do not apply any skincare products.
  • Moisturize the area that needs treatment every day for at least 7 days prior to treatment.
  • [Scars on body] Take a shower before your treatment and wear clean loose clothes.
  • [Scars on breasts] Wear or bring clean sports bra.
  • If the area to be treated has excessive body hair it can cause difficulties during treatment and with the dressing. Remove body hair before the procedure.
  • Avoid alcohol at least 24 hours before the appointment

Skin Needling Post-Care & What to Expect

  • Skin may feel tight and sensitive post-treatment, similar to a mild sunburn.
  • Don’t exercise for the first 48 hours.
  • Don’t take alcohol for the first 48 hours.
  • Same Day, use Cetaphil, Cerave, or AnteAGE Cleanser to wash with luke warm water over the covered area. Pat dry the area with a clean disposable towel or facial tissue. You can shower right after treatment, but you shouldn’t do an immersion bath for the following 7 days.
  • Keep the tape for a minimum of 4 days (ideally). If you MUST remove the tape “SLUGGING” will help to protect, soothe and hydrate the skin. The best options are: AnteAGE BioGel, GlyMed Plus Cell Protection Balm, or Vaseline.
  • [Contracture scars] Do not remove the dressing for at least 24 hours.
  • Use ONLY approved products recommended by the skincare practitioner to promote best results. Customer must be very cautious about what is applied as skin can react to ingredients in outside skincare products that can lead to irritation, granulomas, and infection.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure and excessive heat for a minimum of 7 days. Freshly resurfaced skin is prone to sun damage. Wear at least an SPF 30+ daily and properly, starting 48 hours post-procedure.
  • Sleep on clean pillowcases, bed linens, and night wears/pj.
  • Don’t participate in aerobic exercise for 48 hours.
  • [scars on face] Avoid makeup for 48 hours on the treated area. 48 hours post-procedure you may wear 100% pure mineral powder makeup.
  • Don’t use hot tubs, steam rooms, saunas, and/or excessively hot showers for 7 days.
  • Don’t swim for 7 days. Chemicals and or components/bacteria in the water may irritate the skin causing harm.
  • Don’t use AHA’s or BHA’s until 7 days post-treatment.
  • Don’t use retinoic acid for 7 days.
  • Don’t have electrolysis, waxing, sugaring, threading or any other form of hair removal for at least 7 days if needling treatment is for the face or 21 days for body.
  • Don’t tan or use a tanning booth for at least 21 days.
  • Don’t use facial/body scrubs or mechanical forms of exfoliation for 14 days.
  • Avoid direct prolonged sun exposure for at least 15 days.
  • Avoid touching your treated skin unnecessarily. If you must ensure your hands are clean. Use prescribed home care products consistently and as directed to achieve optimal results.
  • Moisturize the area daily after 7 days from the treatment with a non-irritant product. Pure rosehip oil is recommended as a post-treatment aid for the treated area.
  • Avoid any physical treatments or therapies on the treated areas for at least for 7 days.
  • Fitzpatrick IV-VI, the pigment may darken prior to lightening. It’s recommended that the customer has cooling pads in the freezer to use as cold compress on the treated area for 20 minutes at least 4 times a day for the first 48 hours to calm the irritation that produces more melanin resulting in hyperpigmentation.
  • The use of silicone patches for a minimum of 12 hours a day after dressing is removed is recommended on treatments of normotrophic, hypertrophic and trauma scars until the next treatment.
  • Compression garments may be recommended (contracture scars).

Are scar reduction services right for me?

There are many different types of scars and severity. One type of scars, that we cannot treat is keloid scars while we can certainly treat hypertrophic scars. (Please don’t get confused with keloid scars and hypertrophic scars. They are completely different types of scars.) This is the reason that scar reduction requires in-clinic consultation. If you have a scar you wanted to get rid of, please contact us first to see if this is right for you.
